The Adiala Jail authorities formally released former president Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday from his sub-jail after he was granted bail by a local court. The former military ruler remained under house arrest at his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad, on the edge of Islamabad, for over seven months while he faced court trials.
On Monday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Wajid Ali granted him bail with a solvent surety of Rs100,000 against the alleged murder of former Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and his mother during the army operation on the mosque and the adjacent madrassa in 2007.
Musharraf has already been granted bail in three cases pertaining to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti, and the detention of dozens of superior court judges.
Advocate Ilyas Siddiqui, the counsel for Musharraf, submitted the surety bonds and the court ordered his release on Wednesday. Later, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Jawad Paul de-notified the sub-jail orders. “Musharraf is now free and can move in the country like an ordinary citizen,” Siddiqui told The Express Tribune.
Even though he had been granted bail in all cases, Musharraf’s name is still on the Exit Control List (ECL). The interior ministry had put his name on the ECL on the orders of the Sindh High Court (SHC) in March this year. Siddiqui said an application was submitted in the SHC on Wednesday against his client’s name being on the ECL.
Musharraf had returned to Karachi on March 24 after four years in self-exile to lead his party – the All Pakistan Muslim League – in the May 11 general elections, but the Election Commission of Pakistan had disqualified him.
A high treason case is still in pending against Musharraf as the Federal Investigation Agency has yet to start formal proceedings. The Supreme Court had referred this case to the federal government to initiate the high treason case against the former army chief for twice holding the Constitution in abeyance.

ONE OF THE ORDERS OF MASTER OBAMA FULFILLED. NEXT COMES THE RELEASE OF Dr.SHAKEEL AFRIDI. APART FROM OTHER THINGS !!
Allah bless u my great leader
Musharraf was the best leader Pakistan had in many decades. He represented us at international forum in a dignified manner and had vision for a progressive, strong and educated Pakistan. He was the driving force behind progress made by Telecom, media and above all education. Prior his take over, Pakistan was on the verge of being declared a defaulter state and he turned things around. Common man's quality of life improved, Dollar, petrol and other commodities remained stable. Then people had to bear revenge of democracy. Musharraf haters claimed that he would never come back. He came back and is on path to get himself cleared from all fabricated cases. We as a nation, do not deserve leaders of his calibre of Imran Khan We only deserve people like Dasti and Raisani. Musharraf should say Good Bye to Pakistan and enjoy his life in some civilized part of the world.
leader is back..
Free Musharraf and offer him Foreign Minister post!.
I hope the shameless media personalities, especially the paid tv anchors will shut their mouths against Musharraf now.
"The Supreme Court had referred this case to the federal government to initiate the high treason case against the former army chief for twice holding the Constitution in abeyance." This is exactly the case he should be prosecuted for and nothing else, every thing else could wait. He must not be allowed to leave the country , if he wants to see his mother, his mother should be brought to see him in Pakistan, Pakistan has medical facilities to take care of her, it is strange that all those with the money go to other countries to look after their ailments but millions of Pakistanis are left on the mercy of local hospitals. If these hospitals are good enough for millions then it should be good enough for the elite of Pakistan other wise the hospitals in Pakistan will never be allowed to be world class hospitals.
Jeevay Jeevay Musharraf Jeevay! Pervez Musharraf Zindabaad!
Yes to Musharaf, No to Lal Mosque cronies.

love this brave and courageous leader, stay blessed
CONGRATULATIONS to all Pakistanis.....
Let the game begin.
What a joke. This effectively means nothing but the official security detail at his farm house is officially withdrawn.
This is the weakest of the various cases against Musharraf with the judge saying that even the police report finds no evidence against him. In any other country the prosecutor would never have filed charges knowing he would lose in court. Musharraf should press for a quick trial and get a "not guilty" verdict under his belt.
Welcome Sir. We miss you. You are probably the only one who has the courage to fight terrorism and get us rid from the corrupt rulers.
Musharaaaaaaaf Is back
The only leader in the history of Pakistan who stood for what is RIGHT, made our economy THRIVE, put Pakistan on the map for one of the FASTEST DEVELOPING countries in the world, and most of all he put PAKISTAN FIRST. It is sad to see a soldier of Pakistan who has been in numerous battle fronts risking his life for the country being treated like this. InshAllah his freedom will bring change in Pakistan, the same effective change we witnessed during his tenure. I hope the country trusts him and follows his vision to prosperity once again. -ET Print This
"A high treason case is still in pending against Musharraf" What a country where high treason case which carries death penalty in most countries including Pakistan is kept on the back burner! The SC is too busy in small political cases and Suo Motu actions not the most serious cases involving the worst crime against the state. If Mush is not guilty release him don't leave him in limbo.
