Technological innovation: Youth contribution highlighted
Engineering students of NUST interacted with senior official of Royal Dutch Shell plc who visited NUST on Nov 5.
Engineering students of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) interacted with a senior official of Royal Dutch Shell plc who visited NUST on Tuesday.
Matthias Bichsel, the projects and technology director, spoke about Shell’s focus on technological innovation and developing of integrated energy solutions. In his address, Bichsel said Shell sees universities as its friends.
Not only do varsities provide a rich source of recruits, but they are also a wonderful source of research and innovation, the cornerstone of Shell, he said.
Moreover, Bichsel was pleased to see the fuel-efficient vehicles that students have built for the 2014 Shell Eco-marathon.
At the event, NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Commandant Major General Obaid Zakria said students need to heard from global experts of technological and engineering fields and such opportunities are a crucial part of their education.
Over 150 students from electrical, mechanical and mechatronic engineering disciplines attended session.
