Unemployment: Man commits suicide
His family told police that they found him hanging to a ceiling fan in his room.

A man said to have been unemployed for several months committed suicide on Tuesday in front of his mother and wife. Ghulam Muhammadabad police said the 30-year-old resident of Mohallah Usman Ghani had lost his job several months ago. They said he had been looking for a job, but to no avail. His family told police that they found him hanging to a ceiling fan in his room. Shafiq Akhtar, a relative of the deceased, said the deceased had frequent quarrels with his family over money. He said some relatives believed that his unemployment had affected his mental health. On Tuesday, the mother of the deceased said, his wife had asked him for Rs50 for vegetables for lunch. She said this was followed by an argument between the two when he said he did not have any money to feed them. She said he locked himself in a room. A few hours later, she said, they broke into the room and found him hanging from the ceiling.
