No casualties: Blast at railway track near Qasimabad

An improvised explosive device detonated on the tracks above the Hussainabad underpass near Wahdat Colony, Qasimabad, on Tuesday evening, minutes before the Pakistan Business Express was to pass through the track. No casualties took place as the train was stopped 0.5 kilometres away from the location of the blast. According to the police, the device was placed along the upcountry track which exploded and damaged over one foot of the track. ASP Umer Tufail said that the police had found a pamphlet of the Sindhu Desh Liberation Army, a nationalist group, near the track. The group is believed to be involved in similar attacks in the past carried out on the tracks, power pylons and branches of the National Bank of Pakistan. The Bomb Disposal Squad carried out a thorough check on both sides of the tracks near the area.
