Visit to Awaran: Relief work to continue despite disruptions, vows Kayani
Army has distributed 6000 tons of food and 37000 tents besides treating 17000 patients at round-the-clock hospitals.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited earthquake affected areas in Awaran on Tuesday to review relief and rehabilitation work in the Balochistan province, stated an Inter Services Public Relations press release.
"He was briefed at the field Headquarter of Pakistan Army's Formation undertaking relief and rehabilitation work," the release read.
"He reiterated the resolve that Pakistan army, in collaboration with the government of Balochistan and concerned federal ministries, will continue the relief efforts despite attempts to disrupt relief work by miscreants."
Kayani admired the resolve displayed by the local population in withstanding the hardships caused by the natural calamity.
A total of six battalions and eight helicopters have been deployed for relief and rehabilitation work in the affected areas.
ISPR went on to detail the army's contributions as follows:
"The Army troops have, thus far, distributed around 6,000 tonnes of food items and 37,000 tents. Moreover, a well-equipped Army Field Hospital has also been functioning, round the clock, where more than 17,000 patients have been treated."
While interacting with the area's influential people and local administration officials, the COAS assured the continued support of Pak Army to the people of Awaran and Balochistan Government, till the affected population were adequately settled.
