Immigration fraud: FIA team soon to leave for UK to arrest suspected couple

A Federal Investigation Agency team will soon leave for Britain to arrest a couple allegedly involved in cases of immigration fraud, The Express Tribune has learnt.

The accused, identified as chief executive officer of a consultancy firm M/s Future Concern Associates Asim Malik and his wife Zobia Rubab Malik  also director of Future Concern, have been booked in around 176 criminal cases on human trafficking and immigration fraud charges with the FIA Anti Human Trafficking Circle’s police station.

According to the FIA report, the couple has allegedly extorted Rs460 million from different people by promising them immigration of different countries including Canada, Britain and Australia.

The couple, despite having their names on the Exit Control List, managed to flee the country and according to an FIA report now resides in the UK. Interpol has already issued red warrants for the couple.


The FIA’s director general has formally prompted the Interpol and Pakistan’s High Commission in the UK  to finalise the arrangement for the FIA team, sources privy to the matter said.

The agency has also arrested six accused who were allegedly involved in an attempt to sell a property on 380 kanals in Bhalwal, which is frozen on court orders.

The accused identified as Sultan Ahmed , tehsildar at the Revenue Department , Gardawar Yaqoob , Patwari Riaz , Patwari Ijaz, Bhai Khan and Asadur Rehman are in FIA custody.
