Anti-dengue day: Rescue 1122 holds awareness walk
Awareness brouchers were also distributed by the rescue workers who participated in the walk.
ISLAMABAD:
With 440 positive cases of dengue reported in Rawalpindi this season, there was nothing much to celebrate on November 3, the Anti-Dengue Day in Punjab. Nevertheless, the Rawalpindi Rescue 1122 emergency service, in keeping with public awareness activities elsewhere in the Punjab, organised an awareness walk for dengue eradication from its Central Rescue Station to the Murree Road. The District Emergency Officer Dr Abdur Rahman led the walk along with all emergency officers, the control room in-charge officer, station coordinators and rescue workers to sensitise the community over the dengue virus. Awareness brouchers were also distributed by the rescue workers. Rahman also conducted inspection of all Rescue 1122 offices to highlight the importance of cleanliness in controlling dengue.
