Anti-dengue efforts: Shahbaz orders purchase of new equipment

The chief minister directed the health officials to take every possible step to contain the virus.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday directed health officials to purchase new equipment for Holy Family Hospital to diagnose dengue patients.



During a visit to various government hospitals in the city, he enquired about the health of dengue patients. The chief minister directed the health officials to take every possible step to contain the virus. He was told by the officials that dengue patients were being given free of cost treatment and medicines. The chief minister was told that 440 patients have tested positive at the allied hospitals this year and of them, three lost their lives.

Talking to reporters, Shahbaz said that efforts were afoot to control dengue and weekly leaves of health officials have been cancelled to provide facilities to the dengue patients admitted to various hospitals.
