ANF conducts a raid at a house in Sector F-11, arresting three people and recovering large quantity of drugs.
RAWALPINDI:
The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) conducted a raid at a house in Sector F-11 and arrested three people including a woman and recovered a large quantity of drugs. The raiding party found 50 packets of cocaine totaling 80 grams, 1,751 of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) pills, commonly referred to as ecstasy, 746 grams of MDMA powder, and one pills cutter. In addition US$2,270, and Rs221,580 in cash, 11 mobile phones, a car and a motorcycle were also seized. Called ‘party drugs’ by the ANF, both cocaine and ecstasy have become increasingly available in the country, though consumption is largely limited to the upper classes due to relatively high prices. According to ANF officials, the drugs were to be sold for New Year’s Eve parties and leads from initial investigations may result in the arrest of the suppliers.
