KARACHI:

An anti-terrorism court remanded a political activist suspected of murdering former special prosecutor Naimat Ali Randhawa.

Randhawa, who had recently taken up the murder trial of Geo TV reporter Wali Khan Babar, was gunned down by unknown assailants in North Nazimabad on September 26.

The police claimed that the suspect, Kazim Abbas Rizvi, who is believed to an activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, has confessed to the murder of Randhawa and two other persons, Matiullah and Muhammad Abbas. The investigation officer produced him in court amid tight security and requested the judge to remand him to prison. The judge sent Rizvi to jail on Saturday and ordered the investigation officers of the three murder cases to submit the final charge sheets.
