Crime against children: Girl raped, suspects at large
The suspects are pressuring the victim’s family to withdraw the case.
FAISALABAD:
A girl was gang raped on Friday by five men in Rodala area.
Police said Altaf and his four accomplices kidnapped a girl, *Zainab, a resident of Chak 355-GB, and raped her.
*Muhammad Aamir, a cousin of the girl, told the media on Saturday that Zainab was kidnapped and taken to a dera outside the village.
“They [the suspects] raped her… when she resisted they beat her up,” he said.
“They left her there and fled,” he added.
Altaf said he had filed a complaint with Rodala Road police but the suspects had not been arrested.
“They are influential people… and are pressuring us to withdraw the complaint,” he said. When contacted, Rodala Road SHO told The Express Tribune that the police had registered a complaint and were waiting for the medical-legal report.
The SHO said a police team had been constituted to arrest the suspects.
In another incident in Faisalabad, police said a girl was rescued by neighbours when her father tried to rape her at their house in Chak 133-RB on Friday.
Sahianwala SHO said the suspect fled the scene when the neighbours gathered outside the house to help the girl.
“The police are looking for the suspect… and have registered a case,” the SHO said.
