Land grabbing: Widow appeals for justice
My husband died six years ago after which his brothers grabbed my property which was in my name, claims Tabassum Amin.
A widow, and a mother of two, has appealed to the government to release her property from her in-laws and ensure her family’s security. In a press conference in Muzaffarabad this past week, Tabassum Amin claimed her husband’s brothers, Naeem Shah, Saleem Shah and Wasim Shah, forced her to take back a civil court petition which she had filed against them two years ago. Amin’s husband died six years ago after which his brothers grabbed her property which was in her name, claims Amin. A local Jirga intervened and decided in her favour but her in-laws refused to accept it and grabbed her land.
