Rescue 1122: 1,100 emergencies responded to

            The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to 1,100 emergencies and rescued 1,125 people in October, District Emergency Officer Mazhar Shah said on Friday. He said the average response time was recorded at 4.43 minutes. Shah said the service responded to 374 traffic accidents, 562 medical emergencies, 63 drowning emergencies and 18 fire incidents, whereas 172 people were given treatment on the spot.  He said Rescue 1122 faced several challenges during this period but due to an effective system of emergency care, modern fire service, water rescue teams, disaster response team and animal rescue teams, all relief operations were successful.
