Thousands of school students attended the second day of the Children’s Literature Festival on Thursday.
Dozens of interactive activities were held for the children, including face-painting, poster-making and reading and writing sessions.
Maheen Butt, of Citizens’ Archive of Pakistan, said, ”We staged the story of two girls at the time of 1947 riots. We showed Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs, instead of depicting just one side of the event. We want to encourage children to learn to listen to the other sides as well.”Sadia Ali, a seventh grader at the Lahore Grammar School, said, “I enjoyed the cultural dress show.”
Bilal Ali, a third grader, said “I enjoyed the face mask session and card-making stall the most.”
The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) had arranged a social mobilising stall for youngsters where they gave away prizes.
Stage plays titled Mime Show and Pappu ka Paneer by the Mandwa Group and Thespianz Theatre Group were well received by the young audience.
Actor Khalid Anum, who played a young boy, was immensely popular among the children.
