Employees ran off with files containing employee records during a raid conducted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment

Karachi Metropolitan Department (KMC) employees ran off with files containing employee records during a raid conducted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment on Thursday. A four-member team of the anti-corruption body conducted a surprised raid at KMC’s HR department and tried to seize employee records of promotions and appointments. The team, however, faced resistance from KMC employees who shouted at them and threatened them with physical harm. Sensing a potential blowout, senior KMC officials sent the team to a committee room for their protection. KMC HR director Shoaib Waqar, while acknowledging ACE’s raid, refused to confirm reports that employees ran off with employment files.
