Systemic failure?: Dengue continues to thrive in Swat

Around 19 new dengue patients in Swat district have taken the total number of people infected to 8,931. According to the DHO, these cases surfaced in the valley on Thursday.
Meanwhile, 14 new patients were admitted to the dengue ward of Saidu Teaching Hospital (STH) taking the count of hospital-registered patients to 5,075.
“Seven patients were discharged from the hospital on Thursday after complete recovery after which the number of cured patients reached 4,849,” said STH spokesperson Dr Wasil Ahmed Khan. He added 49 patients were hospitalised on Wednesday, including 46 males and 3 females.
