PESHAWAR:

Since 2007, the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) has dealt with 208 bomb blast victims, said the chief executive of the hospital Arshad Javed.

Speaking to journalists at the LRH on Thursday, Javed said 4,000 patients have been brought to the hospital in the past six years, while 1,000 bodies have been received. “The hospital will provide better healthcare services to the people of K-P, to cope with emergency situations by providing affordable, accessible, efficient and quality medical care,” he said.

He said the hospital has 28 clinical and diagnostic departments, which is the main reason why victims of every blast are brought to the LRH.

He said the hospital has around 4,000 employees, including administrative, medical, paramedical, nursing and other staff. Javed informed the press that nine new units would soon be established at LRH. He also added that the total annual budget of LRH is Rs1.6 billion, out of which LRH is allocating over Rs21.2 million to the extension and renovation of the administration block.
