India announced a 15-member squad yesterday for the two-match Test series against the West Indies that is set to start on November 6 in Kolkata, according to ESPNcricinfo.

The series, reportedly shoed-in to celebrate Sachin Tendulkar’s 200th Test on home ground, may give opener Rohit Sharma his maiden Test cap, the format where the right-hander is yet to make an appearance.

The selectors have also retained pacer Ishant Sharma despite his horror run of late. The Delhi-based bowler has been unimpressive in all formats of the game, yet finds his place ahead of Zaheer Khan who is expected to make a return to the team for the tour of South Africa.

Fast-bowlers Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have also been included in the squad.

Squad: MS Dhoni (c & wk), Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Pragyan Ojha, Amit Mishra, Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma.
