Public safety: No CNG for vehicles with defective kits from Nov 6

The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Monday said public transport vehicles with defective CNG installation would not get fuel from CNG outlets from November 6 onward, according to the government directives.
The CNG filling stations and transport vehicles disregarding the orders would face legal action including fines and shutdowns, while CNG operators would be held solely responsible for all the losses taking place due to any incident, it said.
In a statement, APCNGA Chairman Supreme Council Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha said that copies of government orders have been sent to all CNG pumps and associations of transporters across the country for compliance.
He asked transporters to get their vehicles inspected and have necessary maintenance done according to safety standards, otherwise the police and transport authorities would impound vehicles and remove the CNG kits.
He said that a few months back Ogra had initiated a laudable move to ensure safety of masses in the public transport vehicles.
