Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal qualified for the PSA World Individual Championship main round after beating Germany’s Jens Schoor 3-1 in the final qualifier in Manchester, England.
Iqbal lost the first set 13-11, but fought back to win the next three games to accumulated scores of 11-13, 11-5, 11-6 and 11-8.
His real test begins now though since he is pitted against Egypt’s experienced player Karim Darwish.
Meanwhile, Farhan Zaman won his third PSA tour title after his opponent, Mexico’s Eric Galvez, retired hurt in the decider of the Chicago Open. He claimed victory with a scoreline of 9-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-2 and 8-4.
