Police widen net: 17 suspects rounded up in different raids

The Rawalpindi police claimed to have arrested 17 suspects in different raids and seized 945 grams of hashish, 110 grams of heroin, 42 bottles of liquor, 20 litre wine, one 30-bore pistol with 104 rounds, one 12-bore gun and fireworks items from the their possessions.     


According to a police spokesman, the New Town police arrested Qasir Mahmood and recovered 520 grams of hashish from him, 300 grams of hashish from Malik Shahbaz, six bottles of liquor from Naeem Masih and 10 bottles of liquor from Aqeel Danial. The police lodged cases against them and investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the Cantt police held Rashid Ali and recovered five bottles of liquor from him and five liquor bottles from Tanveer Shah.


Another accused, Saleem Masih, was held by the Morgah police and recovered 10 liquor bottles from him.

According to the police, the Pirwadhai police recovered 20 liter wine from Zeeshan Khan and weapons and rounds from Muhammad Munir, Adnan Ahmed and Syed Farooq. The police arrested Waseem Akhlaq and Muzamal Ali for possessing fireworks items.

The police arrested Ahsan ul Haq and Muhammad Faheem for illegally decanting Liquefied Petroleum
Gas.
