Assistance: Canada aids solar irrigation project

FAISALABAD: A solar irrigation project has been supported by Canada through Shahbaz Bhatti Memorial Trust for the people of Khushpur village in Faisalabad. Up until now 45% area of the 2,000 acres of the village was arid due to the lack of water supply, resulting in a community living below subsistence level. The plant was inaugurated by Greg Giokas, Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan.
