Cross-border relations: ICCI forum to organise Entrepreneurs Summit
Neighbours to explore economic potential.

The Young Entrepreneurs Forum of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) will organise an ‘Indo-Pak Young Entrepreneurs Summit’ on October 29. The event will be held in collaboration with Aman Ki Asha (Indo-Pakistan Project), Young Indians and Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE) in Islamabad.
More than 30 entrepreneurs, professionals and change makers from India are expected to attend the Summit in Pakistan. Moreover large number of local entrepreneurs, dignitaries, diplomats and university students are expected to participate in the event.
President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Shaban Khalid said that India and Pakistan, being the largest economies of South Asian region have massive potential for bilateral trade which can be taken from current $2.5 billion to $10 billion per annum by taking concrete steps towards the facilitation of the businessmen on both countries.
“To realise this huge untapped economic potential, both countries need to reinvent and reshape their bilateral ties by dismantling the walls of mistrust and removing misperceptions”, Khalid said.
He said that the regular interactions, especially between the young entrepreneurs of both countries can render pivotal contribution towards gradually demolishing trade barriers as well as building mutual confidence.
“The Indo-Pak Young Entrepreneurs Summit is a landmark initiative towards a new beginning to bring the youth of two nations together”, Khalid added saying that the event will not only enable the youth of both sides to explore new avenues but will also pave ways for mutual cooperation and improved bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and India.
