Police crackdown: 53 arrested for various crimes
Police claims to have arrested 53 criminals including seven proclaimed offenders in Multan.

Police claimed on Saturday to have arrested 53 criminals including seven proclaimed offenders in Multan. Police said proclaimed offenders – Amanat Ali, Yasin, Bashir Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Javed, Muhammad Ejaz and Muhammad Sajjad – were wanted by police in several cases. Police said it also arrested six drug peddlers and seven illegal weapon holders and recovered 22 litres of liquor, 245 grams of hashish, a revolver, four pistols and bullets from them. In addition, 26 gamblers, six motorcyclists doing wheelies, and a kite seller had also been arrested, police said.
