LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge directed an Anti-Corruption Department director to take action on a petition seeking a case against three officials of the department.

The judge also directed the petitioner to submit the relevant documents to the Anti-Corruption Department.

Petitioner Rashid Khan had told the court that he had filed a petition against Faisal Khan under Sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly), 468 (forgery) 471 (using a forged document) and 467 (forgery of a valuable document, will) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

He said Khan and some accomplices were arrested in a raid on September 11 but released a few hours later.

He asked the court to direct the Anti-Corruption Department to take action against the officials who had ordered Khan’s release. The court sought comments from a department representative who said the petitioner had not submitted documents in support of his complaint.
