The Mohajir Qaumi Movement - Haqiqi has approached the Supreme Court (SC).
KARACHI:
The Mohajir Qaumi Movement - Haqiqi has approached the Supreme Court (SC) for the removal of areas where its leadership cannot enter. Ahead of the resumption of hearing of the Karachi law and order suo motu implementation case, party chairperson Afaq Ahmed filed a plea with the SC Karachi registry on Saturday, citing the provincial government and police authorities as respondents. The party said the apex court had ordered the police and Rangers authorities in October 2011 to clear those parts of the city that have been declared no-go areas. But, it added, that there are certain parts of the metropolis where its displaced leaders and activists cannot return homes till today. It may be noted that the apex court’s larger bench is expected to resume hearing of the Karachi law and order suo motu implementation case from Tuesday.
