KARACHI: Additional Inspector General Karachi Shahid Hayat has informed that Sindh Police has finally acquired state-of-the-art SIM or mobile phone locator technology which will help in locating unregistered SIMs and snatched mobile phones that are used in most crimes.

“To make the ongoing operation a success, police department need feedback from the business community of Karachi so that it can take right decisions at the right time,” he added.

Referring to an announcement made by Governor Sindh recently, Additional IG confirmed that a total of 900 CCTV cameras were being installed in some of the most sensitive localities of Karachi.

He said that around 2000 additional policemen will be added in the police department after Muharram to improve security situation of Karachi.

Mr Teli opined that people have witnessed a decline in the incidents of target killings but bhatta mafia (extortionists), street crimes, kidnapping for ransom and other such criminal activities are on a rise that must be efficiently tackled by the law enforcing agencies.
