Man, five women killed

At least six people were killed in separate incidents in Okara between Wednesday and Thursday.


Murders

A 28-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her in-laws in Tibba Naseer Shah on Thursday. Police said the husband of the deceased was not home when she had an argument with her in-laws. Police said an autopsy report indicated that the woman had been tortured. Her father-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law have been arrested.

A woman was murdered in Chak 40/4-L over a property dispute. Police said the suspect, Muhammad Ahmed, a cousin of the deceased, had been arrested.

The body of a man was found from Chak 48/3-R. Police said the man had been identified as Muhammad Ijaz. The autopsy showed that he had been murdered, police said.


Accidents

A woman was killed and her husband critically injured when they were hit by a tractor trolley. Police said Azra Bibi and her husband, Muhammad Aslam, were travelling on a motorcycle when they were hit.

Her husband was taken to district headquarters hospital where his condition was later reported to be critical. The driver of the tractor-trolley fled the scene, police said.

A 36-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in Chak 12-1/AL. Police said the woman’s son was injured in the incident and had been taken to district headquarters hospital. His condition was later reported to be critical.

A 40-year-old woman was hit by a train in Churiyan. Police said the woman was crossing a railway track when she was hit by the Karachi Bound Allama Iqbal Express.

District and railway police said they had started inquires.
