Sex crime: 15-year-old arrested for rape

Suspects arrested an hour after the incident, victim undergoes surgery.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday shortly after rape of a six-year-old girl.


Kot Samba police said he had left the girl lying unconscious in a field.

They said the suspect, a resident of Karkhana Bazaar in Taranda Sawai Khan near Rahim Yar Khan, had kidnapped the girl from near her house and taken her to a field nearby. He then raped her and fled when she fainted.

The girl was discovered by some farmers, who recognised her and informed her parents, who were looking for her.

She was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan, where doctors treating her later said that she was out of danger. She underwent a surgery a few hours later. Doctors said she might need another operation depending on her recovery.

Station House Officer Jam Allah Yar Saifi told The Express Tribune that the suspect was arrested within an hour.



He said District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chattha had ordered the police to send the girl’s and the suspects samples for a DNA test to a laboratory in Lahore.


He said the suspect would be presented before a court on Friday (today), where police would seek a one-week remand for investigation.

Married woman ‘gang raped’

In Faisalabad, a woman was ganged raped by six men in Chak 406-GB, Tandlianwala- Saddar police said.

They said the woman was on her way home from a market when the suspects kidnapped her and took her to an outhouse.

They said the men later fled abandoning the woman while she was unconscious.

They said she started shouting when she came to a few hours later. Some-passers-by heard her and took her to the district headquarters hospital and informed the police. Doctors treating her confirmed rape. They said the woman had also been beaten and there were bruises on her body.

One of the woman’s relatives told police that the suspects enjoyed support of an influential landlord in the area.

He said her family had received threatening calls pressing them for withdrawal of the complaint.

The station house officer said that an FIR had been registered. He said a police team was looking for the suspects.
