The Sindh High Court (SHC) sought comments from the provincial prosecution department on Thursday, regarding the alleged delays in prosecution of target killers.
The court was hearing the petition filed by a woman against alleged delays in prosecution of her father’s killers.
The applicant said that her father, Haji Muhammad Shareef Gabol, a property dealer, was sitting outside his house when two armed motorcyclists gunned him down. According to the applicant, the police claimed to have arrested Rashid alias Chamber on May 27, 2012, who had disclosed the name of her father’s target killers.
On Thursday, Mobina Town SHO informed the court that suspects were produced before the magistrate’s court and a charge sheet was filed with the sessions court. On the court’s query, additional prosecutor general requested for time to file the comments. Justice Sajjad Ali Shah directed the prosecutor to file comments by November 31.
