Explosion near Lyari kills 12 year-old in Karachi

KARACHI:
A hand grenade explosion in the Timber Market located near Lyari in Karachi killed a child and injured two people on Thursday, Express News reported.

Express News correspondent Nadeem Khan reported that unidentified people had hurled a hand grenade at a shop. A 12 year-old sitting nearby lost his life as a result of the blast.


The blast destroyed the gates and shutter of a warehouse, while flying shrapnels from the explosion injured at least two other people.

The site of the incident, which happens to be adjacent to the busy Lee Market, falls within limits of the Napier Police Station.

Police officials have arrived at the area and are investigating the incident. More details over the cause and nature of the blast are expected to flow in as their investigation continues.
