Child rapists: LHC puts off plea for terror trials
It is the state’s responsibility to take action to curb this crime says petitioners' counsel.

Justice Sheikh Najamul Hassan of Lahore High Court has adjourned till October 29 a petition asking that men accused of raping minors be tried under anti-terrorism laws. The petitioners’ counsel submitted that there had been a recent spate of child rape cases in the Punjab and it was the state’s responsibility to take action to curb this crime. He said that child rapists should be sentenced to death He also sought details of all rape cases registered in the Punjab in five years and of the challans submitted to the trial courts.
