Pending investigations: NAB workers told to fast track graft cases
The NAB chairman instructed NAB Rawalpindi to complete all investigations in the on-going cases.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has directed its Rawalpindi bureau officers to expedite all pending investigations, particularly into the high profile cases of Rental Power Projects (RPPs) and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) scams.
He visited the NAB Rawalpindi office on Tuesday where he was briefed by the Director General NAB Rawalpindi Subah Sadiq about the status of ongoing investigations and inquiries. “Follow the orders of the court in letter and spirit so that we can meet the deadlines,” said the NAB chairman.
He instructed NAB Rawalpindi to complete all investigations in the on-going cases, especially the RPPs, Ogra and Modarba scams, at the earliest so that appropriate action could be taken. “The implementation report would soon be submitted to the Supreme Court,” said Chaudhry.
Former prime ministers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf were the accused in the RPPs and Ogra cases. NAB has already completed investigation into some cases of RPPs scam and references were ready against the accused. However, inquiries into a majority of them were still pending.
The references ready to be filed in accountability courts were yet to be reviewed by the chairman for his authorisation.
Chaudhry directed that both operations and prosecution divisions of NAB should work in close collaboration to achieve desired results.
