KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) legal advisor Taffazul Haider Rizvi has stated that it remains to be seen if the Islamabad High Court order for conducting elections for the chairman of the board would be executed in time by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

“The PCB still feels that the ECP, under the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973, is not mandated to conduct these elections,” Rizvi told The Express Tribune.

The lawyer added that the board will challenge the order with the intra court appeal set for hearing on October 29.

He also said that after the Internal Monitoring Committee superseded the board, the Electoral College as indicated by the IHC needs to be legally reassessed.

“The effect of the supersession of the general body, which is a part of the Electoral College, needs to be examined,” concluded Rizvi.
