India has retained the squad that took part in the first three matches of the seven-match One-Day International series against Australia, according to ESPNcricinfo.
The selection committee made the announcement yesterday — a day after the reversal in Mohali where the hosts lost the third match of the series by four wickets in a dramatic fashion, conceding a 1-2 lead.
Fast-bowler Ishant Sharma, who bore the wrath of Indian fans for his poor performance in the 48th over of the Australia innings, continues to be a part of the squad — the lanky pacer conceded 30 runs with the Aussies needing 44 runs off the last three overs of the match. However, it remains to be seen if he is fielded for the remaining matches.
The Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who scored an unbeaten century in Mohali, castigated his bowlers after the match, stating that they needed to hold their own as ‘bowlers can’t be spoon fed at the international level.’
