MINGORA:
Three people, including two wanted target killers, were nabbed in two separate raids by the police on Sunday.

According to the DPO, Rahimabad police raided Ogdey, a suburb in Mingora, following an intelligence tip-off. The police came across two suspects who attempted to flee when they saw the officers. One managed to escape but the other was detained after a chase.

The accused in police custody has been identified as Subhan Ali, a resident of Qambar village. “They were planning a terrorist attack in Mingora which was foiled by their timely arrest,” claimed the official.

However, Subhan maintained the police arrested him because of some personal grudge. “I have not been arrested from Ogdey; the police came to my house and took me into custody,” he told reporters.

“The police also recovered a bag from the men which contained six hand grenades. Search for the second suspect is underway,” shared an officer of the DPO.

Also on Sunday, Matta police nabbed two suspects from Shakardara.  According to the police, the two men in custody, Kamran Khan and Nawab Ali, were involved in target killings in Karachi and had fled to Shakardara.

Kamran and Nawab were wanted by the Karachi police in various cases of target killing. Earlier, copies of relevant FIRs had been sent to the Matta police station. Further investigation is underway.
