ISLAMABAD:

The Awami National Party (ANP) has appealed to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to change its stance about militancy following the killing of its third legislator since it formed the government in Khyber-Pakhtunkwa some months ago.

“PTI lacks a clear-cut policy about the militants and respect for its parliamentarians killed by the militants,” said Senator Haji Mohammad Adeel, the ANP’s caretaker chief patron.

“PTI is so confused about its policy on militancy that its leadership does not attend the funerals of its own legislators, who are killed by those for whom they have a soft corner,” said the ANP leader.

Adeel said PTI is wasting time without making its policy clear about militancy in the province. “An ambiguous policy (on terrorism) is making the K-P province suffer and also confusing those who have voted in the PTI in the name of change and peace,” he said.

“The PTI leadership is so scared of the insurgents that it never bothered to go the homes of the victims of terrorism to offer condolences or attend the funerals,” he said.

Mehmud Shah, a former FATA secretary and a retired brigadier, said that PTI had announced it would start negotiations with the TTP without understanding the complexity of the situation and its background.

True, PTI and IK have confused the people. The whole world is on one side, against terrorists and PTI is supporting them, out of fear. Of course there was no peace when ANP was in power, but at least they had the courage to condemn them, resist them. They even held negotiations with them, but when the TTP breached peace agreement, ANP took action and rooted them out of Swat. What is PTI doing????? Submissive attitude, apologetic as if TTP r the bosses. TTP is patrolling areas of Dir, Buner and Mattani and Badaber in Peshawr; Bhattha culture introduced for the first time in KP. So this is the fruit of PTI policy.
