Firing in Korangi Sharafi Goth in Karachi killed one police officer while injuring another, Express News reported on Saturday.

The incident took place when police officers tried to stop two individuals who resisted and opened fire.

The injured officer was taken to Jinnah hospital for medical attention and his condition is reported to be critical.

Previous incidents in Korangi

On September 28, two police commandos were killed and one suffered injuries when a mobile of the Rapid Response Force (RRF) of the Sindh police came under attack in Korangi.


The attack took place at the police mobile stationed near the Bilal Chowrangi in Korangi. Police officials had said that at least four armed motorcyclists attacked the police mobile. “They first lobbed a cracker at the mobile and then resorted to indiscriminate fire,” Korangi Industrial Area SHO Imdad had said while talking to The Express Tribune.

On the evening of September 28, a policeman was killed and another was injured in an explosion that took place in the Korangi Industrial Area of Karachi.

Initial reports suggested that the explosion was caused by a hand grenade attack, though the sound from the was heard from quite afar.

“The culprits fled soon after the incident,” Express News correspondent Nadeem Khan had said.

The police vehicle which was targeted by the grenade attack was present at its checkpoint in the area, said Khan.
