Economic Ties: SAARC VP pushes for US investments

Malik said the US should also transfer hybrid technology to Pakistan strengthening its national economy.

Founder Chairman Pak-US Business Council and Vice President South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Iftikhar Ali Malik on Friday said that Pakistan is an emerging market rich in opportunities for the US investment in every sector particularly in the agro-power and IT. He urged the US businessmen to invest in power, IT, agriculture, livestock, engineering and other sectors as manpower in Pakistan is much cheaper. He said Pakistan could provide the best quality products of international standard to the US markets, provided Pakistani private sector was fully strengthened by the US investors. Malik said the US should also transfer hybrid technology to Pakistan for bringing about a revolution and strengthening its national economy. He said that the Pakistan economy suffered a colossal loss of billions of dollars after 9/11. Malik said that the US Chamber of Commerce could also play a pivotal role in promoting bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
