Inflation: Index up 0.24% during week
SPI for the combined groups was up by 0.09%; up from 204.06 points in the previous week to 204.24 points this week

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended October 10, 2013 has registered an increase of 0.24% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 200.05 points against 199.57 points registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined groups was up by 0.09%; up from 204.06 points in the previous week to 204.24 points this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated to 9.06%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: 9 items registered a decrease, 19 items increased and the remaining 25 items’ prices remained unchanged.
