Karachi operation: Six hitmen nabbed in Karachi

Alleged targeted killers include the murderer of SHO Irfan Haider.

In different raids, Karachi police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested half a dozen hit men, including the one who killed a station house officer (SHO) recently.


The arrests were disclosed at a press conference held at the office of District West Police Chief Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Javed Odho.

The arrested hit men have been identified as Syed Babar Hussain Jaffery, Faisal Babu, Ejaz Khuda Buksh, Saeed Umer, Kamran Khan Nazar and Ibrahim Saeed.

Jaffery was picked up from Surjani Town area while the rest were arrested from SITE area.



DIG Odho said that the suspects were involved in several cases of targeted killings in various parts of the city, especially in District West.

He said that Faisal Babu and Ejaz Khuda Buksh were working for a criminal gang of Lyari.

He also claimed to have arrested Azhar, who was allegedly involved in the targeted killing of Sir Syed police station SHO Irfan Haider and Station Investigation Officer (SIO) of the New Karachi police station, sub inspector Shahbaz Ali.

Both police officials were gunned down by armed men in North Karachi a few days ago. Actually SHO Haider was the target but the SIO also got the bullet,” DIG Odho explained while talking to The Express Tribune.

“Arrested culprit have political affiliation and admitted of having a brawl with Haider in the cattle market,” said the police chief of District West.
