As many as 162 suspects, including alleged target killers and extortionists, were apprehended in the ongoing targeted raids and operations by the police and Rangers on Tuesday.


Around 33 suspects were taken into custody during targeted raids by the Rangers in different areas, including Lea Market, Kharadar, Shah Faisal Colony, Daryabad, Gulshan-e-Aresha Society and Pak Colony, while snap checking was also carried out at Kati Pahari and Manghopir road.


According to the Rangers’ spokesperson, 33 criminals, including Lyari gang war elements and criminals affiliated with different political groups, were apprehended. He added that weapons were also seized from their possession.

Separately, four alleged extortionists were arrested from Orangi Town. The arrests were made when police raided their hideout.

The alleged extortionists were identified as Abdul Malik alias Commando, Babar Saeed, Maqsood and Ameer Hussain, said SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi. He claimed that the accused were involved in a number of cases of extortion and robbery.

Meanwhile, Karachi police have apprehended 125 alleged criminals.
