KARACHI: District west police chief DIG Javed Odho said on Tuesday that the police has arrested a suspect who is allegedly involved in the targeted killing of an SHO, SIO and a sub-inspector.

The three police officials were gunned down by armed men near Anda Morr in North Karachi last week. Sir Syed SHO Irfan Haider and Station Investigation Officer (SIO) from the New Karachi police station and sub inspector Shahbaz Ali were shot dead.

“SHO Haider was the actual target of the culprits but SIO was also hit and killed,” DIG Odho explained while talking to The Express Tribune.

"The arrested culprit who has strong political connections admitted to having a brawl with SHO Haider in cattle market, after which he along with his companions decided to kill him,” DIG said.

DIG Odho said that further raids will be carried out to arrest the companions of the suspect on the information provided by him.
