Three bombs recovered near Karachi mosque

The bombs were hidden in bushes a few streets away from Jamia mosque.

KARACHI:
Three bombs were found near Jamia mosque in Ahsanabad, Express News reported on Tuesday.

The grenade bombs recovered could be fired from a gun or thrown by hand. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) took the bombs to a nearby police station where they were diffused.


One of the bombs was around six inches long while one of the others was 12 inches in length. Two of the bombs were around 1.5-2 inches thick.

The bombs were hidden in bushes a few streets away from the mosque. A trash collector spotted them and alerted authorities, after which the BDS was called.

Rangers arrived at the scene after the BDS had taken the bombs to the police station, but no search operation was carried out.
