FAISALABAD: A sessions court on Monday ordered the police to exhume the body of a woman for a post-mortem examination after the petitioner said that she had become pregnant through rape before she was killed by the suspect. Niaz Ahmad Kartana, a relative of the deceased, said that she had been raped by the son of an influential landlord in the village. He said she had become pregnant and was killed by the suspect to cover the fact. He said the incident was reported to Mamu Kanjan police, but they did not act against the suspect. He alleged that the suspect had bribed the police. He said the deceased was then buried without a post-mortem examination. Expressing dissatisfaction over the police’s conduct, the judge ordered that the body be exhumed and sent for a post-mortem examination.
