Police crackdown: 6 ‘criminals’ arrested, weapons seized

The police on Saturday arrested six people and seized drugs, illegal weapons and fireworks from their possession in raids across the city. A police spokesman said Muzaffarabad, Kup, Dolat Gate and Seetal Marri police conducted raids at various locations and arrested six men. They were identified as Shahid Ali, Shahadat Ali, Hashim, Kashif, Muhammad Subhan and Abdul Ghaffar. Police seized 60 litre liquor, 140 gram hashish, a 0.31-bore revolver with bullets and fireworks from them. Robbers take away cash, cloth Cash and cloth worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were stolen from shop near Double Phatak late on Friday night. Police said robbers broke into Abdul Waheed’s cloth store and took away Rs10,000 and clothing worth Rs593,975.
