October 24 has been fixed for recording statements of the remaining witnesses in the Sawan Masih blasphemy case. Of the 10 prosecution witnesses, Inspector Abdul Majid, Shahid Imran (the complainant), Iftikhar and Muhammad Bashir had recorded their statements.
Qasim and Shafique were given up. Statements of the remaining four witnesses are to be recorded at the next hearing.
Imran had stated in the FIR that he was standing outside a warehouse with his neighbour Shafique when Sawan Masih came to them and used derogatory language against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). He said that they tried to stop him but he fled.
