PESHAWAR:
A board of high-ranking police officials will be established in every district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to ensure SHOs are appointed on merit.
Inspector General Police, Nasir Khan Durrani, has asked all district police officers to constitute a board responsible for the appointment of SHOs, said a written order issued by the Central Police Office.
The order invites all police officials interested in becoming SHOs to submit their applications for consideration. “Hard working and honest officers should be appointed,” Durrani said.
The establishment of a board to appoint SHOs on merit is part of the police reforms being carried out in the province. Among other reforms is the ‘police to victim’ service where police officials will visit victims of crimes such as kidnapping for ransom, armed robbery, and family members in the event of a murder. The police has also established women’s complaint units as part of its reforms.
