KARACHI:
Youth from all over Pakistan will get together to learn from each other as well as leading personalities of different sectors from December 26 to January 1, 2014 under the banner of the 13th Young Leaders Conference.

The participants will have a chance to learn leadership skills and identify opportunities after attending the conference which will be held at the Dreamworld Resort in Karachi. Shireen Naqvi, the director of the school of leadership and founder of YLC, while talking to The Express Tribune said that the aim of the conference has always been to identify the youth's potential and give them exposure to ideas that'll bring a positive change in their lives. "We don't teach something as basic as ABC, we instill confidence through which many lives have been reformed," she said.

Naqvi said that around 2,979 students have participated over the years and the platform has inspired them to achieve their targets.

The participants have established 40 registered organisations in different parts of the country, according to Naqvi.

Saadi Makhdoom and Quratulain Awan, who will be leading YLC 2013, said that the theme, KHALBALI - Sikha, Dikha, Macha, was about restlessness. According to them, the YLC team will focus on bringing out the creative spark in participants and provide them an opportunity to unlearn the learned and to explore the unexplored.

"We'll inspire the youth in such a way that they'll become job creators and not job seekers," said Makhdoom.

The conference has two basic objectives - exploring potentials and finding global opportunities, he said.

"We have to find our Bill Gates and Steve Jobs." More than 50 experts, renowned gurus and specialists will facilitate the diverse programme.
