Aamir crashes out of Royal Lake Club Open

Pakistan’s Aamir Atlas Khan lost the semi-final of the Royal Lake Club Squash Open as the former national champion was beaten by top seed Ong Beng Hee at the Royal Lake Club in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia’s Hee easily overcame Asian Champion Aamir as he won in straight games 11-6, 11-8 and 11-6.
Meanwhile, Ivan Yuen defeated Pakistan’s 17-year-old Tayyab Aslam, 6-11, 11-8, 14-12 and 11-8 while Nafiizwan Adnan edged past Austria number one Aqeel Rehman 11-7, 20-18 and 11-3.
Zaman through to the last-eight in US
In-form Farhan Zaman comfortably moved into the quarterfinals of the $10,000 Champion Fiberglass Open by defeating Canada’s Matthew Serediak 3-1 in Houston, Texas.
Zaman had little trouble in his first-round match as he sealed the victory with scores of 8-11, 11-6, 11-7 and 11-6.
National coach Jamshed Gul said he was delighted with the progress of young players.
“I’m really pleased with Zaman’s performances recently,” Gul told The Express Tribune. “He is growing in stature with every tournament he has played since the Asian Championship while Danish Atlas is not far behind. Aslam is also showing signs of becoming a top player.”
Maria loses in Delaware Open qualifiers
Pakistan star player Maria Toor Pakay tasted defeat in the Women’s Delaware Investment US Open qualifiers against Australia’s Sarah Cardwell.
Cardwell led 2-0 initially but Maria showed great resilience to make it 2-2. However, it was Cardwell’s day as she won the match 11-2, 11-8, 2-11, 3-11 and 11-8.
In the men’s Delaware Investment US Open, Malaysia’s Asyraf Azan defeated Yasir Ali Butt of Pakistan 13-11, 11-5, 5-11 and 11-4.
